Family and Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA)
Governs all student data in the Banner database. Users of the Banner system are required to safeguard and insure the confidentiality of student records as stipulated by FERPA in association with Eastern Michigan University's policy on "Access to Student Records". The Health Insurance portability and Accountablitity Act (HIPAA) of 1996, Public Law 104-191

The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Finanical Modernization Act of 1999 (GLB)
